Mike Farris NASHVILLE, TN…March 26,2008… INO/Columbia’s powerhouse vocalist Mike Farris wowed SXSW crowds as he appeared on three different stages. Plunging full throttle into the music scene Farris adds the famous Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits Festival to his legendary venues and festivals tour, while also launching his weekly series at Nashville’s Station Inn: Mike Farris presents Sunday Night Shout.

Farris performed at this year’s South By Southwest (SXSW) music festival on March 11th at Stubb’s, where he entertained BMI VIP guests, March 12th at the Four Seasons as well as on March 13th for the Americana Music Association (AMA) showcase at the world famous blues venue, Antone’s.

Jed Hilly, Executive Director Americana Music Association elaborates on how Farris made quite an impression at Antone’s: "Mike ripped the roof off of Antone’s tonight. The SRO Texas blues mecca embraced his every move and gesture...Mike Farris is the buzz word today. He was awesome."

Jody Williams, Vice President of Writer Publisher Relations/BMI agreed with Hilly saying, “Mike Farris represents everything great about music: songwriting, singing, song arrangement, musicianship and entertainment. He's the consummate BMI writer," said

SXSW is one of the largest music festivals in the U.S. and is based in Austin, TX. Known for drawing crowds by the thousands it is a place for discovering fresh talent among industry insiders. Along with Farris, performers included music icon Dolly Parton, R.E.M, The Black Crowes, etc.

SXSW is only the beginning for Farris, as he launches Mike Farris presents Sunday Night Shout, a weekly series taking place at Station Inn in downtown Nashville. The series kicks off April 6th and continues every Sunday evening, with doors opening at 6PM. Farris and his band will get the crowd rocking out at 7PM and carry on into the night with some occasional special guests accompanying him on stage. Music & Arts Center, one of the largest retail music store chains to serve a large network of school band and orchestra programs, will be the proud sponsor of Farris’ Station Inn series; encouraging audience participation with instruments that the organization will provide during the show.

Not stopping there, Farris will perform alongside renowned artists such My Morning Jacket, The Allman Brothers, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and more, Friday, June 13th at the four-day, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN and also at the Austin City Limits Festival on Saturday, September, 27th in Austin, TX.

Farris is creating a buzz in Nashville that has already caused people to start talking.

“He's one of the most dynamic, convincing talents to emerge from Nashville in years, and his Salvation in Lights album sounds like the gospel truth," said Peter Cooper from The Tennessean.

Farris will also be singing at the Historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot in May. Along with this, he has been invited to play on Marty Stuart’s Late Night Jam at Nashville’s hallowed Ryman Auditorium in June and will perform at two Creation Fest’s in PA and WA in mid-summer, along with many more dates.

Farris is seeing success both on-stage and with his 2007 studio release Salvation In Lights as it has been voted as one of the “Best Albums of 2007” by three different media outlets, including The Tennessean. This record continues to see chart success as well staying power on the Americana Radio Charts for twelve weeks and counting.
